Welcome to Montague Lake, affectionately known as “the pond,” nestled in the backyard of lifelong Raleigh residents, Harvey and Texanna Montague.
In 1961, the Montagues crafted their home on Penny Road. Soon after, Harvey, ever the visionary, transformed a tobacco field, once the playground of Tex and her siblings, into the tranquil oasis we now call the “pond.”
Fuelled by their love for gathering loved ones, Harvey expanded the landscape to include the charming pond house, fostering endless moments of fellowship.
Originally a haven for friends and family, the demand for access grew with each passing year. Today, Harvey and Texanna generously offer the lake and shelter to the wider community for a nominal fee, ensuring the preservation of this cherished retreat for all to enjoy.
